Fábio Renews with Fluminense: Contract to 2027

Fluminense announced, this Thursday, the renewal of the contract with Fábio. The contract with the 45-year-old goalkeeper, which ran until the end of 2026, is now valid until December 2027. If the agreement is fully fulfilled, he will reach 47 years of age while still active.

Player with the most appearances in the history of football and Tricolor idol, Fábio will enter his fifth season with the club next year. Defending Fluminense, he achieved important feats and broke a record that can now be expanded.

He surpassed the mark of 1,390 career games, surpassed English goalkeeper Peter Shilton and became the player with the most official appearances in the history of world football. Currently, the count stands at 1,417 matches.
