The Delicias delegation began the week with positive results by winning its first medals within the State Olympiad, thanks to the efforts of young athletes who represented the municipality in various disciplines. This was announced by Miguel Aguirre, director of the Municipal Sports Institute, who highlighted the participation of more than 122 athletes in competitions such as indoor volleyball, duathlon and aquathlon.
In the case of indoor volleyball, Delicias sent seven teams from the men’s and women’s branches, achieving a bronze medal in the women’s minor youth category. Likewise, triathlon athletes participated in the duathlon and aquathlon modalities, where important results were obtained for the municipal medal table.
The medals obtained correspond to three gold medals in duathlon, a discipline that combines swimming and cycling, in addition to two gold medals and one silver in aquathlon, which integrates swimming and running. With this, Delicias has a total of five gold medals, one silver and one bronze at the start of the state sports event.
He recognized the support that has been given to youth sports from the municipal administration, pointing out that the impulse of Mayor Jesús Valenciano has been key to strengthening the preparation of athletes and consolidating Delicias as a sports benchmark in the state.

Finally, the director of the Municipal Sports Institute reported that during the week competitions will continue in disciplines such as judo, handball and softball, with venues in Ciudad Juárez and Chihuahua capital, with the expectation of continuing to add medals and surpass the record of 131 medals obtained by the municipality’s delegation in the last edition.
