The one-hour event runs from 12:40 to 13:40 local time at the school's Building No. 1, offering prospective students and sports enthusiasts a direct look at the realities of supporting elite international athletes.
Inside the Professional Tennis Tour with Kei Nishikori
Sakai has traveled the world-class tennis circuit alongside Nishikori since December 2018, supporting the athlete’s conditioning and care. His professional background includes multiple specialized licenses: he qualified as a judo healer in 2006, obtained his acupuncture, moxibustion, and anma massage therapist credentials in 2011, and earned certification as an athletic trainer recognized by the Japan Sports Association in 2012. He further added a parasafe sports trainer certification from the Japan Parasafe Sports Association in 2017 before joining the Japanese Olympic Committee strengthening staff in April 2018.
During the seminar, Sakai will explain how holding multiple credentials shapes daily routines on tour. Attendees will hear firsthand accounts regarding his path into elite professional tennis, the behavioral standards required to sustain a top-tier athlete, and specific advice for students currently pursuing careers in sports medicine.
Practical Demonstration and Limited Public Access
While the institution initially designed the session for current enrollees, organizers have opened 10 slots to outside participants who have an interest in sports or are considering enrollment in the school’s Judo Orthopedics or Acupuncture departments. Registration operates on a first-come, first-served basis, closing once the capacity is reached.
Beyond the lecture portion, the schedule features a hands-on segment focusing on treatment methods for tennis elbow, including functional taping techniques and direct care applications used in competitive sporting environments. The curriculum aims to demonstrate how foundational certifications translate directly into clinical and athletic field practice.
November 27 Event Details and Registration Schedule
