Lasse Abildgaard (18) is transferring from Ajax to Willem II, VoetbalPrimeur knows. The Danish talent played for Ajax in the U19s, but was unable to take the next step. At Willem II he gets the opportunity to develop further. The people of Tilburg have managed to negotiate a bonus structure and there is also a resale percentage.
Abildgaard was acquired by Ajax in the summer of 2023 for a fee of just under one million euros. In Denmark he was considered one of the greatest talents of his generation, but in Amsterdam he never really managed to break through within the youth academy. Although he made a good impression in his first season with the U17s, he hardly played with the U19s in the last two years.
At Willem II, Abildgaard hopes to put himself in the spotlight and compete for a place in the first selection. The current number eight of the Kitchen Champion Division sees sufficient potential in Abildgaard and thinks he can grow into a permanent fixture.
If Abildgaard develops well in Tilburg, Ajax will benefit. The Amsterdammers have included a resale percentage in the deal.
