Denver quarterback Bo Nix rushed for a 62-yard touchdown and threw a scoring pass to RJ Harvey on October 25, 2026, leading the Broncos to a 30-16 victory over the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium and lifting the team’s record to 5-2 on the season.
Bo Nix Makes Franchise and League History in Glendale
The Denver Broncos traveled to Glendale, Arizona, seeking an offensive spark after weeks of inconsistent production, and found it through a record-setting performance by their third-year quarterback. Bo Nix scrambled through a collapsed pocket in the second quarter and raced 62 yards untouched down the middle of the field to give the Broncos a 13-6 lead they would not relinquish.
According to Next Gen Stats, the sprint reached a top speed of 19.90 miles per hour and marked the longest touchdown on a quarterback scramble since the tracking era began in 2016. Nix became just the fifth player in league history to record passing and rushing touchdowns of at least 50 yards, joining Justin Fields, Lamar Jackson, Cam Newton, and Ace Parker of the 1938 Brooklyn Dodgers.
“I thought we played a good game offensively, but there are still several things we would like to get better at.“We’ve just got to keep improving and keep getting better.” – QB Bo Nix after accounting for 381 total yards and 3 TDs in today’s 30-16 win vs. Arizona pic.twitter.com/TfkPq6KmiD

Nix finished the afternoon completing 15-of-29 passes for 222 yards and a touchdown, while adding 73 rushing yards on five carries. His performance helped the Broncos push past the 300-yard mark of total offense for only the second time in seven weeks.
Defensively, the Broncos received impact plays from several players, including Sai’vion Jones, Kris Abrams-Draine, and Eyioma Uwazurike. Linebacker Alex Singleton flew all over the field to record 19 total tackles, including a late-game sack that stopped Jacoby Brissett and the Cardinals near the goal line.

Adam Prentice contributed a blocked punt on special teams to alter the momentum of the contest. Marvin Mims Jr. provided valuable field position with 60 yards on kickoff returns in the first half alone, while RJ Harvey added 54 yards and a touchdown on two catches.
Arizona Cardinals Struggle in the Red Zone as Mistakes Mount
While the Cardinals moved the ball effectively between the 20-yard lines, their inability to finish drives proved decisive. Arizona reached inside Denver’s 20-yard line five times during the contest but managed only three field goals and one touchdown, falling to 1-for-10 in red-zone touchdown conversions over their last 11 attempts.
Quarterback Jacoby Brissett went 27-for-48 for 272 yards and one touchdown under heavy pressure from a Denver pass rush that registered 13 quarterback hits and three sacks. Tight end Trey McBride provided a rare bright spot for the hosts, hauling in 10 receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown.
You hate losing, but I hate playing not good football more than I hate losing because good football usually can lead to wins unless they just make so many plays. I know we can play better than that.
Mike LaFleur, Arizona Cardinals head coach
The 30-16 defeat dropped Arizona to 2-5 on the season. The loss also spoiled a halftime ceremony that inducted franchise great Larry Fitzgerald into the team’s Ring of Honor. Fitzgerald finished his illustrious career with 17,492 receiving yards and 121 touchdowns, earning a selection into the Pro Football Hall of Fame over the summer.
The Cardinals played without rookie running back Jeremiyah Love, who missed his second game due to a sore ankle. Meanwhile, running back Bam Knight led the Arizona ground attack with 48 yards on seven carries.

Denver’s offensive output was further aided by the return of rookie running back Jonah Coleman, who contributed 54 yards on nine carries to help the visitors control the clock in the second half. Head coach Sean Payton praised the team’s execution down the stretch and the renewed confidence across the roster.

Listen, I think for our team, offensively, all those of those things. Yeah, I mean, the confidence inside of the building relative to his ability hadn’t changed at all. I appreciate some guys, sometimes you’re answering questions about whether or not… and there’s not one time where we were… he’s our guy. And it was good to see him play well and it was good to see us block well and make some plays down the field.

Defensive end Zach Allen earned praise from teammates after the game, noting in his postgame media gathering that Nix’s dynamic plays energized the entire sideline. Defensive lineman Malcolm Roach was evaluated for a concussion during the contest but successfully returned to action.
The victory came with physical concerns elsewhere on the roster, however. Defensive back Brandon Jones also battled through multiple missed tackles during an otherwise solid defensive outing for the secondary.
The Broncos return home to host the Kansas City Chiefs next Sunday, while the Arizona Cardinals travel to face the Dallas Cowboys.
