French rugby players Jégou and Auradou indicted for aggravated rape in Argentina


Players of the French rugby team Hugo Auradou and Oscar Jegou were charged on Friday July 12 with aggravated rape by the Mendoza public prosecutor’s office following an indictment hearing and face up to 20 years in prison, we learned from a judicial source. “The unit of the Mendoza public prosecutor’s office responsible for crimes against sexual integrity (…) has formally indicted the two French citizens who are the subject of an investigation by the Mendoza public prosecutor’s office for sexual violence with penetration, aggravated by the participation of two people,” the Mendoza public prosecutor’s office (north-west Argentina) said in a statement. The two players “will remain in detention” during the study of the request for placement under house arrest filed by the defense, it is specified.
