BCL: Trieste Win – Ramsey Shines with 21 Points

The Trieste Basketball returns to the field in Basketball Champions League after having gained access to the Round of 16. The debut was immediately prohibitive, on the difficult pitch of Gran Canaria.

Gonzalez’s men achieved a feat, resisting all the home team’s comeback attempts.

Ramsey and his teammates also led by 11 points at the start of the second period, but Pelos charged and Samar made it 39-38 to end the first half.

In the second half the hosts tried to escape but Trieste responded blow for blow. At the start of the last quarter Ramsey scores 9 points in a row to make it 57-64 with just under 6 minutes to go. Brown also lights up, Samar responds but Trieste doesn’t tremble after free throws.

It ends 71-77, an evening to remember for Gonzalez’s men who start the new phase on the right foot.

Ramsey top scorer with 21 points, Toscano-Anderson scored 11 with 5 rebounds and 6 assists, Brown finished with 14 points and 3 assists.

For the home team, Pelos’ 19 points and Tobey’s 8 with 11 rebounds were not enough.
