Baden Derby: Bundesliga Badminton Thriller

In the 2nd Badminton Bundesliga there will be a real basement duel next Saturday: In the Baden Derby, the second-to-last BC Offenburg will face the bottom of the table from Eggenstein away. For both teams, it’s about much more than just honor – it’s a duel for important points in the fight to stay in the league.

It is not yet possible to predict how many teams will be relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga this season. But one thing is certain: in the end it will definitely not be enough for the bottom of the table.

BSV Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen therefore already has its back to the wall. The match days so far have often been unfortunate for the bottom of the table; at seven points, the gap to the next place is relatively large. The team was unable to compensate for the injury-related loss of Eggenstein’s best man, Fabian Schlenga, at the start of the season.

BC Offenburg arrives second to last in the table and wants to keep their direct competitors at a distance. With a win they could catch up with Maintal, which is tenth in the table and currently has 11 points. Despite a difficult season so far, the Ortenau team has shown fighting performances again and again. The aim is to bring this motivation to the field in Eggenstein too. Spectators can look forward to an intense and competitive derby in which every point counts. The game starts on Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Hermann-Übelhör-Halle in Eggenstein.
