Competing in an N7-level event spanning sub11, sub13, sub15, senior, and popular categories, the Lanzarote-based club traveled with a roster of six young athletes and a two-person coaching staff.
Alvaro Guadalupe Claims Gold in Sub11 Singles
Opening the competition in the sub11 male singles category, top-seeded player Álvaro Guadalupe claimed the gold medal for the Auria Bádminton Club, as reported by Cadena SER. Guadalupe advanced directly to the final after defeating Gerald Santana (15-10, 15-4) and Bruno Pérez (15-3, 15-6) during the group stage. In the championship match against Manuel Cabrera, Guadalupe overcame a first-game deficit to win 11-15, 15-6, 15-10 and secure the top step of the podium.
David Rodríguez Earns Bronze in Sub13 Singles
In the sub13 male singles draw, club teammate David Rodríguez put together a strong run to reach the podium. According to La Voz de Lanzarote, Rodríguez won all three of his group stage matches against Gorka Miguens (21-11, 21-9), Marvin Plasencia (21-11, 21-11), and Francisco José González (21-16, 23-21). He advanced to the semifinals, where he was defeated by Felipe Pérez (17-21, 16-21), earning a bronze medal for his efforts.
Double Podiums in Sub13 Men’s Doubles
The club captured two medals in the sub13 male doubles competition, which was structured as a round-robin tournament among four participating pairs. Isaac Rincón partnered with Marvin Plasencia of CD Bádminton Valle Gran Rey to win the gold medal, defeating Cristian Miguel Barrera and Leiner Leonel Inlago (21-18, 21-19) alongside Eduardo Jesús and Francisco José González (21-16, 22-20). Rincón and Plasencia’s only loss in the liguilla came against clubmates Álvaro Guadalupe and David Rodríguez (21-19, 14-21, 14-21), who finished third overall.
Guadalupe and Rodríguez rounded out their tournament by taking the bronze medal in the same doubles bracket. Beyond their victory over Guadalupe’s club partner, they secured a win against Eduardo Jesús González and Francisco José González (21-15, 21-10) before falling to Cristian Miguel Barrera and Leiner Leonel Inlago (13-21, 16-21), according to tournament records cited by local media.
Jacob López and Nerea Padrón Secure Mixed Doubles Bronze
The Auria Bádminton Club’s medal count concluded with a bronze in the sub13 mixed doubles division, earned by Jacob López and Nerea Padrón.
