The president of the Olympic Committee of El Salvador (COES), Armando Bruni, was elected this Saturday by acclamation and unanimously as the new president of the Central American Sports Organization (ORDECA) for the period 2026-2029.

The election was carried out during an official session of the organization, in which José Ubaldo Zavala, president of the Honduran Olympic Committee, was also appointed as treasurer of the organization.

Bruni, who has led the COES since November 2021, has extensive experience in national and international sports. He has presided over the Salvadoran Badminton Federation and the Pan-American Badminton Confederation, in addition to standing out for his professional training as a lawyer and notary, with a master’s degree in management of sports organizations and a postgraduate degree in public procurement.
