Security forces in Rosario, Sinaloa, arrested nine individuals—including five foreign nationals—during a joint operation targeting an armed group in the community of Agua Verde, according to state security officials. The raid yielded multiple assault rifles, tactical gear, and thousands of rounds of ammunition, marking another major enforcement action in the region.
Joint Operation Leads to Nine Arrests in Agua Verde
According to a statement issued by the Sinaloa State Public Security Secretariat (SSP), security personnel deployed to the rural town of Agua Verde after reconnaissance patrols identified an armed civilian stronghold. The operation involved elements of the Sinaloa Special Operations Group of the State Preventive Police alongside the Mexican Army.
Inside the targeted property, authorities detained nine people. Both the suspects and the confiscated items were transferred to the custody of an agent of the Public Ministry to advance ongoing investigations.
Weapons, Tactical Gear, and Narcotics Seized
The enforcement action resulted in a substantial contraband seizure. State officials recovered nine AK-47 assault rifles, 54 ammunition magazines, and more than 2,600 live rounds. Authorities also confiscated nine tactical vests, 10 ballistic plates, and five kilograms of suspected marijuana.
This deployment follows a separate security sweep conducted three days prior in the same Agua Verde area. In that previous operation, the federal Security Cabinet reported the dismantling of an organized crime camp, resulting in eight arrests, 29 long guns, a grenade, currency-counting machines, and quantities of both cocaine and marijuana.
