The Winter Olympics will be held from February 6 to 22 at several venues in northern Italy, including Milan and Cortina. The biathlon events, one of the key disciplines of these Games, will begin on Sunday February 8 and end on Saturday February 21.
On the program, the usual events of the discipline, namely the sprint, the pursuit or the mass start. These Games are being held in the middle of the Biathlon World Cup, which began on November 29, 2025 and will end on March 22, 2026 in Oslo.
The French people involved and the chances of medals
To be competitive during these Winter Games, the French team has selected an armada of 12 athletes who have different abilities and chances of medals. Among the women, Lou Jeanmonnot is currently at the top of the World Cup rankings and will have a real card to play. Julia Simon – who returned to competition late after legal problems – still remains a threat, having won several gold medals at the World Championships. Camille Bened, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet and Océane Michelon, respectively ranked 7th, 10th and 11th in the World Cup, will wear the outsider bib. Jeanne Richard will also be there.

Tuesday February 10: 20 km individual men
Wednesday February 11: 15 km individual women
Friday February 13: 10 km sprint men
Saturday February 14: 7.5 km women’s sprint
Sunday February 15: 12.5 km pursuit for men and 10 km pursuit for women
Tuesday February 17: Men’s 4×7.5 km relay
Wednesday February 18: Women’s 4×6 km relay
Friday February 20: 15 km men’s mass start
Saturday February 21: 12.5 km women’s mass start
On the men’s side, Éric Perrot, in great form this season, is at the top of the World Cup rankings. With Quentin Fillon Maillet – 6th with an XXL track record – they will have the best chance of French medals. Émilien Jacquelin, Fabien Claude, Oscar Lombardot and Émilien Claude complete the French delegation which will travel to Italy.
All biathlon events will be held in Anterselva, in northern Italy, a site close to Cortina and the Austrian border, which is entirely dedicated to this discipline during these Games.
