BC Wassenaar Secures OpslagHotel Sponsorship

Badminton Club Wassenaar has signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with regional storage provider OpslagHotel.nl, replacing longtime partner Van Loenen Light Design ahead of the 2026/2027 season, according to local sports reporting.

The new partnership was finalized by Marco van Herk representing OpslagHotel and Simon van der Graaf, PR board member for BC Wassenaar. The agreement secures financial backing for the club over the next three seasons, providing resources for daily operations and new community activities.

Transition From Van Loenen Light Design

The transition marks the end of a multi-year partnership with Van Loenen Light Design, which served as the club’s primary sponsor through the 2025/2026 season. Club leadership acknowledged the outgoing sponsor's sustained involvement, noting that the past support stabilized the association.

With that sponsorship concluding, BC Wassenaar initiated a search for a commercial partner that concluded with the selection of OpslagHotel.nl. The company operates regional storage facilities, including a location at Verlengde Hoge Klei in Wassenaar.

BC Wassenaar Launches Membership Programs and Tournaments

Alongside commercial updates, the club has launched several programs to drive membership at the start of the 2026/2027 calendar. Last week, BC Wassenaar hosted its annual Grabbelton tournament during the Wassenaarse Sportweek, an initiative organized alongside Fit in Wassenaar. Current and former members competed in evening matches, concluding with a trophy presentation and social gathering.

To attract newcomers, the club also rolled out a “Try Badminton” program. The introductory course consists of ten lessons designed to teach basic fundamentals. While the initial sessions are underway, organizers confirmed that late entries remain open for residents interested in joining.

Weekly Playing Schedule and Contact Details

BC Wassenaar hosts regular weekly sessions at local facilities for different age groups. Adult sessions for players aged 16 and older take place on Monday evenings starting at 19:30 local time. Dedicated sessions for participants aged 55 and older run on Wednesday mornings from 10:00 local time.
