The company Tenfield communicated this Monday to the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF) what will equal only in two of the four tenders in which he had the possibility of participating in this last instance, and he kept the streaming and the audiovisual productionin the marketing of Uruguayan soccer TV rights for the period January 2026 to December 2029.
Tenfield ruled out equalizing rights for the international marketwhich will be managed by Team Click (Team Sport Media and Antel), and the betting market which Mediapro kept.
The company run by businessman Francisco Casal won four of the eight tenders that the AUF put on the market.
It had already been defined on December 5, when the AUF announced the best proposals for each of the eight tenders, which the company had already will not have the rights to cable and open TV which pass into the hands of the Torneos-Directv consortium.
This Monday was a historic day for Uruguayan soccer because it was the last time that Tenfield was able to activate the equalization clause, which it has had since the first contract it signed with the AUF in 1998, and which allowed it the possibility of offering the same as the best proposals in four lots despite making lower offers.
In 2029, there will no longer be equalization clauses in the contracts that the AUF signs for TV rights for any company.
The AUF secured a gross collection of US$ 270 million in the next four years and Tenfield will no longer have exclusivity of TV rights as occurred between the period 1999-2025.
The other novelty is that Uruguayan football already will not be castable from the devices on which football can be streamed, this means that the game can no longer be transferred to the television screen from the phone.

The AUF will communicate this Tuesday the end of the tender with all these details and will close a process that began in September with an international open call, with the commercialization of football products in three blocks (eight tenders) in which 13 companies presented 17 offers and that allows the AUF to multiply by three the income of its TV rights.
The new contracts will be signed in the coming days and will take effect from January 1, 2026 and will end on December 31, 2029.
In this scenario, the summer tournaments and the Apertura Tournament, which begins the second weekend of February, will have new actors.
