Monza Draw vs Cesena: SPRING 1 Report

The red and whites, despite an excellent performance away from home, are unable to capitalize on the opportunities they created and the match against Cesena ends 0-0.

Monza starts with great determination and personality: in the 3rd minute Bagnaschi from the right lane serves Fogliaro in the area, who frees himself from the marking and shoots towards the goal. The deviation from the Juventus defender proved to be providential and the guests won a precious corner.

The hosts try to advance, but the red and whites are well deployed and don’t allow any space.

In the 22nd minute Reita attempted a left-footed shot from distance, but the ball went wide. Cesena responded in the 30th minute with Tosku, who aimed at the goal from outside the area without creating any particular danger.

The first real chance of the match came in the 34th minute and it was the team led by coach Oscar Brevi who came close to taking the lead: following a corner kick, Albe’ prevailed in the penalty area. The defender jumps higher than anyone and heads very close to the net.

The Brianza team remained in the attacking zone and in the 36th minute they proved dangerous once again with Reita. The midfielder unleashes a strong, angled shot, but a deflection saves the Bianconeri in a corner kick. The first half of the game ends 0-0.

In the second half comes the first ring for the home team: in the 2nd minute Carbone shoots towards goal and finds an excellent response from Vailati.

In the 12th minute it was the red and white goalkeeper who took center stage again with Carbone’s treacherous cross, which crossed the entire area and was blocked for a corner.

As the minutes passed, the match proved to be increasingly physical, with both teams ready to take advantage of their opponents’ mistakes.

In the 35th minute the referee draws the red card against Bagnaschi for an intervention judged to be irregular and Monza remains with ten men.

The Bianconeri try to take advantage of their numerical superiority, but the Brianza rearguard does not falter, raises the wall and starts again.

In the 45th minute Fardin, coming off the bench, turns on the left, passes two opponents and is stopped by the defender.

At the end Colonnese and his teammates defended the result with great team spirit and at the final whistle it ended 0-0.

In the next round, scheduled for Saturday 3 January at 3pm, AC Monza will face Atalanta BC at home.
