Elimination of the French Elite championships
The Board of Directors of the federation has recorded the end of the French Elite championships for all disciplines with the exception of Outdoor Archery. The establishment of the Elite Championships in 2020 should best prepare the best French archers for confrontations in the arena. If the primary objective was achieved, it no longer seems relevant to keep this format for all international disciplines.
Only Outdoor Archery will retain an Elite championship, in a slightly different format, with expanded quotas and the possibility for participants to compete both scratch and in their respective category.
For other disciplines, the Elite championship quotas will be redistributed to the different championships by category.
French team championships
A new project for the team sector, supported by the two co-presidents of the federal sports commission, has been validated with the objective of supporting the structuring of clubs by promoting the training of young archers and federal training.
- A D1the competition format has been renewed. Qualifying shots will provide bonus points for ranking. All the clubs will compete in a first phase of the regular season during the first two rounds of the season. The third round will be dedicated to a play-off phase, bringing together the 8 best teams, as well as a play-down phase for the last 8 in each category. Important clarification: the point counters will start from zero for this final stage.
At the end of the play-off phase, the first four teams will compete for the podium in a final phase (semi-finals and finals). - The French D2 championship will go from three rounds currently to two rounds plus a final. The promotion to the first division will now concern the first 4 clubs in the French Championship Final.
- The National Final of Regional Divisions will be the subject of an event separate from the final of the French D2 championship.
National Youth Tournament (TNJ)
The TNJ aims to prepare our best young archers for national and international events. Participation in TNJs will now be subject to achieving minimum score levels.
The national technical management has chosen to distinguish the U13 and U15 whose objective is first of all a general increase in the level of performance. They will compete in two qualifying shots (72 arrows) over the weekend. The U18 and U21 categories will keep a format similar to the current one with a qualifying shootout on Saturday followed by elimination matches and finals in the arena. The top 4 (U18-U21) will also compete in the mixed team event.
Creation of an individual national circuit
Finally, from this season an individual national circuit will see the light of day. It will take place on the Saturday of the 3 stages of D1 with a qualifying shoot followed by duels. Rewards by competition and in the general classification are planned. A ranking system over the 3 stages will be put in place on the same principle as the TNJ Challenge. Points obtained in relation to the final ranking of each competition, ranking according to the 2 best results. Financial allocation at stake.
