Sixty-one athletes took the shooting line in Villacidro, Sardinia, over the weekend for the 2026 Fisdir-Fitarco Regional Indoor Championship — a record number of participants for the first indoor archery competition of the season for Fisdir, the Italian sports federation for athletes with intellectual and relational disabilities, Fitarco reported.

The regional title was contested by archers with intellectual and relational disabilities, with the competition staged on a shooting line set up inside the gymnasium of Villacidro’s middle school.

Sardinia sits among the national leaders in Fisdir archery

The 61 athletes in Villacidro are part of a constantly growing movement that places Sardinia in the top national positions, both in organization and in the competitive value of its athletes. The record turnout in the regional indoor championship extends that trajectory into the 2026 season.

With the indoor regional title decided in Villacidro, the Sardinia Fisdir archery calendar now moves to the next scheduled competition on the regional program.
