Movistar Estudiantes receives a Baloncesto Alcalá team with experience and seniority tomorrow, Saturday, in the match corresponding to the twelfth day of the Regular League of the Tercera FEB.
Alcalá is “a great team that is not having great results,” he says Movistar Estudiantes coach, Mariano Arasabut his roster, he emphasizes, is “spectacular, with players who know the category, even who have played more ‘up'”, among whom he mentions Max Solé, Juan Gabriel, Young, Juanjo Jiménez, Dani Martin, David Ávila…”.
After indicating that “I’m sure I’ll leave someone out along the way…” the coach reiterates that he has “a very, very good, very balanced roster” and explains that “they can play small and they can play big,” but “above all, they have that experience, that seniority that always adds up.”
The coach affirms that “we are training well”, but it is true, he specifies, that last week “we have not been able to compete” due to the postponement of the match against Náutico de Tenerife.
“We hope not to pay for the lack of competition we have had,” he says, “which has been two weeks between games,” but “we are quite encouraged, quite focused on what we have to do now: playing this Saturday against Alcalá and on Tuesday the 23rd in Tenerife, the postponed match against Náutico.”
With nine wins, one loss and one match pending, Movistar Estudiantes is third in the BA subgroup classification of Conference B, and Baloncesto Alcalá, with four games won and seven lost, is ninth.
A rival with experience and seniority
Baloncesto Alcalá is one of the 12 teams from the Community of Madrid that compete this season in Conference B of the Tercera FEB.
A team full of proven veterans in the category, several of them former Movistar Estudiantes players, such as Mike Young, David Avila, Alberto Torres and Dani Martin Luna.
Leading the bench, Alberto Garrido “Garri”, who, according to Baloncesto Alcalá, “with his experience and commitment, will be in charge of guiding the team in a year full of challenges and ambition. His competitive nature and his way of understanding basketball will set the course for a squad that will seek to grow every day.”
Alberto Garrido replaced Ángel Díaz, who remains in charge of the technical direction and continues working from the Board of Directors, as he has been doing since 2010, to grow the Club and continue moving forward.
Baloncesto Alcalá scores an average of 69 points per game, and concedes 73.5, with a field goal success percentage of 37.7% – 25% on three-point shots and 61.6% from the Free Throw line. He captures an average of 36.5 rebounds (10.9 offensive and 25.6 defensive) and distributes 12.2 assists.
