It was Christmas early for Ferrari employees. A few days ago Lewis Hamilton paid a surprise visit, and with the greatest discretion, to the employees of the Formula 1 team in the Maranello factory in Italy to offer them a nice surprise gift.
According to the Italian and English press, the seven-time world champion, who already wears Santa’s red outfit at the wheel of his car during the season, had his bag full. He personally presented the 1,000 employees with a gift box signed Fortnum & Mason, an emblematic luxury house in London and a true symbol of British culture.
These boxes contained a selection of typically English products: Breakfast Blend tea, lemon biscuits, tea biscuits and a box of Neapolitan, milk and dark chocolates. Everything was accompanied by a signed photo and a little note written by Hamilton: “Happy Holidays, From Lewis (Happy Holidays from Lewis)”. Perhaps a way to make amends for a complicated and tense season.
“I want to thank everyone on this team for coming every day and constantly striving to succeed,” the Briton posted on his social media after the season. We will get there and we will do it together. Complete focus on the last race, we’ll talk soon. »
After a failed first exercise with the prancing horse brand, Hamilton, who finished the season in 6th place in the drivers’ standings just behind his partner Charles Leclerc, will be keen to get involved in the race for the world title in 2026. Ferrari employees will be his first supporters.
