Vasco Sousa spent Christmas in the hospital. The midfielder, loaned by FC Porto to Moreirense, underwent surgery on December 15th at the CUF Hospital, and was closely monitored by the Dragons’ medical department, the club to which he is linked until 2030.
The young midfielder underwent surgery after fracturing the fibula of his right leg in the League defeat to Benfica, in Moreira de Cónegos.
«It’s not the Christmas we imagined. Difficult, intense, spent where we least wanted it. But even here, the most important thing was never missing: being by each other’s side. May love arrive, even so», wrote Joana Guise, Vasco Sousa’s girlfriend.
In February, the midfielder faced a similar situation, when he underwent surgery on the fibula of the same leg. In less than three months he was training and, in June, he was called up to the Club World Cup by FC Porto, although he did not play in the competition.
At Moreirense, a club that has an option to purchase the athlete’s pass set at 8 million euros, Vasco Sousa played nine matches and scored one goal.
