Igor Kokoškovs started this season as the head coach of “Anadolu Efes”, but at the end of November, the Istanbul club announced the termination of cooperation.
According to Urbon, the next captain of “Anadolu Efes” will most likely be the Spanish coach Pablo Laso.
The 58-year-old strategist has won the ULEB Euroleague twice during his career with Real Madrid. He managed the Spanish Royal Club from 2011 to 2022, winning six ACB league titles and Spanish Cups.
In 2015 and 2018, when the Madrid team led by him triumphed in the Euroleague, Laso also earned the award of the best coach of the season.
“Anadolu Efes” currently occupies the 14th place in the ULEB Euroleague with a record of 5-9.
