With the final whistle of the last final, the 2025 FIBA Open 3×3 Annual Finals came to an end on October 26 in the Hero City Nanchang. The event witnessed the birth of new champions in three major categories at the T16 Causeway Bay Shopping Center Plaza: Yantai Youyuan Flowers won the overall championship in the men’s category, Guizhou Ziyun County topped the women’s category, and the host Jiangxi Nanchang team successfully topped the youth category.
Under the guidance of the Chinese Basketball Association, the finals are co-sponsored by FIBA China, Nanchang Municipal Sports Bureau, and the Honggutan District People’s Government, co-organized by the Honggutan District Education and Sports Bureau, and operated by Huati Sports Development Co., Ltd., a top public three-person basketball event. It not only presents the world-class level of three-person basketball competition, but also demonstrates the deep grassroots foundation and vitality of the sport in China.

“The treasures are abundant, the dragon shines over the ruins of the bull fight; the outstanding people are like Xu Ru, who is sitting on Chen Fan’s bed.” A thousand years ago, Wang Bo praised the land of Yuzhang with his powerful words; a thousand years later, under the same sky, the 2025 FIBA Open 3×3 annual finals ushered in the ultimate showdown in Nanchang, the Hero City. On the T16 Causeway Bay Plaza, the champions of the three major categories were settled. A banquet of “stars” belonging to grassroots basketball ended successfully with passion and sweat.
Men’s Group: Two heroes compete, a classic match between foreign players
The finale of the men’s group final was a high-quality offensive showdown between Yantai Youyuan Flowers and the Unknown People. At the beginning of the game, Yantai team’s Smith took the lead with a dunk, and the unknown Yuan Cheng responded with a tough “2+1”. The two sides went back and forth, and the battle reached 7:2. The unknown person once took the initiative. However, the Yantai team’s two foreign aids, Smith and C.J. Trott, began to show their personal abilities, shooting from inside and outside, and gradually eroded the point difference.
In the final stage of the game, the atmosphere solidified. Smith forced a foul and made two free throws, helping Yantai take the lead in winning the championship point at 19:17. The unknown Nigel recovered one point with a free throw, and the two sides tied at 19. At this critical moment, CJ Trott stepped forward and made a calm two-point long shot from the outside, sealing the throat with a sword to kill the game! Yantai Youyuan Flowers finally won a thrilling victory at 21:19 and were crowned the men’s national champion. This suspenseful final battle between foreign players brought the most shocking ending to the entire event.
Women’s Group: Zhou Huan dominated the final quarter, Ziyun County came back to win the championship
The women’s final was held between Guizhou Ziyun County and McDavid TRA. McDavid TRA once took the lead with Wang Leyi’s outside touch, and the two sides fell into a hand-to-hand tug-of-war. At the critical moment, Zhou Xinglai of Ziyun County broke out. Not only did she hit from the outside, she also made steals, assists, and stable mid-range shots. She made a decisive wave of personal attacks at the end of the game and single-handedly turned the tide of the game.
In the end, Guizhou Ziyun County defeated its opponent 19:14 and successfully reached the top. Zhou Huan’s dominant performance in the final quarter won her a lot of applause, and also perfectly interpreted the basketball spirit of “women don’t let men down”.
Youth Group: The host played triumphantly, and Jiang Chuxin made the final decision
The youth group final is the pinnacle dialogue between the host Nanchang, Jiangxi and Beijing No. 22 Middle School. The two sides got into a fight from the beginning, taking the lead alternately and tying the score many times. In the last 1 minute and 39 seconds of the battle, the Nanchang team won the match point at 19:17. After a tense free throw and a fierce transition between offense and defense, Jiang Chuxin seized the opportunity to break through and score the key goal to end the game!
The Jiangxi Nanchang team finally left the championship trophy in the Hero City, and the whole audience was excited. The passion and dreams of the young people bloomed brightly at this moment.
Slam Dunk Contest: Zhao Xu spreads his wings, and the scorpion swings its tail to lock the throne
The first climax of the final day was the dunk contest. Witnessed by an authoritative judging panel composed of Chinese basketball legend Hu Weidong, FIBA China Head of Events and Business Department Wu Yuegang, FIBA Beijing Enterprises Basketball Academy Technical Director Milan Opacic, and former CBA dunk king Yi Jinhong, four dunkers Liang Jingtong, Li Bin, Niu Boyang, and Zhao Xu took turns performing their skills.
In the final round, local strongman Zhao Xu showed amazing body control and creativity, and ended with a visually impactful “scorpion tail swing” dunk. He overwhelmed the crowd, conquered all the judges, and was crowned the “Slam Dunk King” of this competition.
Awards Ceremony: Stars Gathering, Moments of Glory Pay Tribute to Struggle
With all the competitions over, the grand awards ceremony began in the eyes of everyone. FIBA Hall of Fame member Zheng Haixia, Chinese basketball legend Song Xiaobo, Wang Libin, Hu Weidong and other basketball heavyweights gathered together to witness the coronation moment of grassroots heroes.
Individual awards will be announced first:
The three-point shooting competition championship was won by Kuang Songshan from Yunnan Luquan Basketball Association. His stable shooting was amazing. Xia Mi, Director of Technical Development Department of FIBA China, presented him with the championship trophy, and Wilson Marketing Manager Shi Kailiang presented him with the Wilson basketball designated for the event.
The slam dunk contest championship was won by Zhao Xu, who performed impeccably. Former CBA Slam Dunk Contest champion Mr. Yi Jinhong personally presented him with the championship trophy, and Baidu Intelligent Cloud Pan-Tech Sports Solutions Director Liu Chuan later awarded him a championship bonus of 5,000 yuan, symbolizing the inheritance and glory of the fighting spirit.
The team glory was settled in sequence:
Women’s group: Champion Ziyun County, Guizhou (prize 30,000 yuan and championship ring), runner-up McDavid TRA, third runner-up Black Jack. At the award ceremony, Wu Yuegang, head of events and business of FIBA China, first presented them with championship medals and Peak Champion sneakers. Later, Tao Longxiang, manager of the Variety Business Department of Beijing Tongrentang Technology Group, awarded the team a championship ring and a championship bonus of 30,000 yuan. Finally, Ms. Song Xiaobo, a member of the Chinese Basketball Hall of Fame and director of the Youth Committee of the Chinese Basketball Association, handed the championship trophy, which symbolizes the highest honor, to the players.
The Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for the women’s team was awarded to Zhou Huan, who led Guizhou Ziyun County to win the championship and dominated the game at the end of the final. The MVP trophy was personally presented by the famous star Zheng Haixia.
Youth group:The host team from Nanchang, Jiangxi Province successfully reached the top and won the championship trophy; Beijing No. 22 Middle School and Shenzhen Longhua New City won the second and third place respectively. Amid warm applause, Yang Chun, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of Nanchang Sports Bureau, first awarded the championship medal to this young champion team;
Subsequently, Liu Chuan, Director of Baidu Intelligent Cloud Pan-Tech Sports Solutions, presented the championship prize bicycles sponsored by Tianjin Dayuan Industry and Trade Co., Ltd., Tianjin Dayuan Technology Development Co., Ltd., and Dulun Bicycle; finally, Mr. Fang Liang, General Manager of FIBA China, presented them with championship rings and championship trophies symbolizing growth and glory.
Men’s Division:After a thrilling battle, Yantai Youyuan Flowers was finally crowned the champion, winning the championship and receiving a championship bonus of 100,000 yuan; the unknown person won the runner-up, and Ronglin Pharmaceutical won the third runner-up. Li Jinsheng, former director of the Basketball Management Center of the State Sports General Administration and executive vice chairman of the China Community Development Association, first awarded medals and a championship bonus of 100,000 yuan to the champion team;
Later, Lin Xiaoxiong, head of the Peak Sports Brand Management Center, presented exclusive Peak championship sneakers to the players; finally, under the attention of the entire audience, FIBA Chief Operating Officer Mr. Patrick Mahlier personally awarded the team the championship ring and championship trophy that symbolized the highest honor, pushing the atmosphere to the climax.
The Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the men’s team was awarded to CJ Trott, who hit the buzzer-beating goal in the final and led the Yantai team to the top. Chinese basketball legend Mr. Hu Weidong presented the award to him.
