Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes secured his 100th career regular-season victory in his 131st game on October 19, matching the NFL record for the fastest a player has reached the milestone. Mahomes led the Chiefs to a 22-6 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers during a Week 6 home game, completing passes for 272 yards and cementing his status among the league’s all-time elite signal-callers.
Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady Share the NFL Milestone
With Sunday’s outcome, Mahomes tied retired legendary quarterback Tom Brady as the only players in NFL history to notch 100 regular-season wins in just 131 career appearances. Brady retired at age 49.
“Brady is the best to ever do it,” Mahomes said following the victory. “It’s always an honor to be mentioned in the same sentence as him.”
Injury Return and Division Standing for Kansas City
The milestone victory carries added significance following the conclusion of Mahomes’ previous campaign. In December during a matchup against the exact same Los Angeles Chargers opponent, Mahomes suffered a torn left knee ligament that forced him to miss the remainder of the season. His return to full health this year culminated in the landmark win against the very team that cut short his prior winter.
The 22-6 decision over the Chargers pushes the Chiefs to a 5-0 start to the year, maintaining possession of first place in the AFC West division. Kansas City entered the 2026-2027 NFL season aiming to build on a franchise legacy that already includes three Super Bowl championships and three Super Bowl MVP awards for their star quarterback since he took over the starting role in the 2018-2019 season following his selection as the 10th overall pick in the 2017-2018 NFL Draft.
