Philip Holm returns to Sweden again.
The 33-year-old signs for the SHL newcomer Djurgården.

During Sunday evening announces DIF That 33-year-old back veteran Philip Holm is ready for a return to the club.
– We warmly welcome Philip home! This is an established, capable and experienced back who has played here before. We are very pleased to have a guy with a large Djurgårdshjärta home to Djurgår’n again, says Djurgården’s sporting manager Niklas Wikegård.
Philip Holm back in SHL after the conflict with Örebro
Philip Holm comes from Stockholm and has Huddinge IK as the parent club. He played in Djurgården as a junior and then got up and spent five seasons in the club’s A-team. Holm was present when Djurgården left the elite series in 2012 but followed down to Hockeyallsvenskan. He was then part of the trip back up to SHL 2014 and he stayed in Djurgården until 2016 after which he left for games in Växjö.
Since then, Holm has had games in North America and KHL before returning to Sweden in 2022 and signed for Örebro Hockey. He was a top back in Örebro until 2024 when he was first petitioned and then no longer got to train with the club. After a long period of conflict, the contract was broken and Holm moved to Rapperswil in Switzerland where he played during last year’s season.
Now Philip Holm is back in SHL again.
– Philip has been around the hockey world, gathered great experiences and played both the World Cup and the Olympics. Through this we broaden our back side with a reliable piece. We know that SHL will place great demands on us and we now feel safe with our nine slopes in the men’s squad, says Niklas Wikegård.
Holm was listed for 20 points in 48 games in the Swiss league last season. In 2017, Philip Holm joined and won the World Cup gold with Tre Kronor, he also played the Olympics for Sweden in 2022. In total he has played 279 SHL matches in his career.
