“I miss him like crazy,” Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said. “But nothing new on that front.”
Quarterback Jalen Hurts appeared Wednesday at the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice facility, according to team sources cited by ESPN, marking the first time some teammates had seen him since he was placed on injured reserve because of blood clots in his lungs.
Hurts sat in on the team meeting and additional sessions, according to team sources cited by ESPN. He did not address the group, but his presence provided a morale boost for some players, a source said.
Sirianni confirms he has seen the quarterback
Sirianni did not answer directly when asked earlier Wednesday whether Hurts had been at the facility, but he confirmed he had seen him.
“I’ve talked to him and am in constant communication with him and know he’s resting and recovering,” Sirianni said. “I know he’s resting and recovering, and we’re all still praying for him and hoping for a speedy recovery.”
From a superficial clot in London to injured reserve in 12 days
Hurts, 28, is expected to sit out the rest of the season after doctors discovered multiple blood clots in his lungs.

The issue first surfaced in London before the Eagles’ Week 5 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, when Hurts was diagnosed with a superficial blood clot. He played in that game, flew home with the team and practiced in full the following Wednesday. A follow-up ultrasound that Wednesday evening showed the clot had moved, the team said.
Hurts was placed on injured reserve Oct. 17. Two days later, his agent, Nicole Lynn, and the team released a joint statement saying that after further testing and monitoring, “the current diagnosis is a deep vein thrombosis, as well as bilateral pulmonary emboli. He is clinically stable and has no significant functional limitations.”
His treatment involves anticoagulation, or blood thinners, which prevents him from participating in any contact activities, including football.
McKee’s 0-3 stretch gives way to Joe Milton
Tanner McKee took over for Hurts and went 0-3, throwing two touchdowns and two interceptions. He is being replaced in the lineup this week by Joe Milton, who was signed off the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad in mid-October.
