Ajax Extends Pasveer Contract After Klaassen Deal

It was no secret that Pasveer wanted to continue at Ajax, which also had ears. Nevertheless, the extension took the necessary time. Now there is white smoke. The experienced goalkeeper put his signature under a contract until the summer of 2026.

“With all his experience, Remko is an important figure in the selection, both on and next to the field. He is a real example of someone who lives for the sport,” says technical director Alex Kroes about Pasveer, who was bombed by the now left Francesco Faroli last season as the first goalkeeper. The two -time international Van Oranje did that properly. In 24 Eredivisie matches he kept the zero eleven times.

“Last season he had a very strong campaign as our first keeper and proved that he is still more than capable. That is why we are very happy that we have him with us again this season. He really deserved this extra year,” Kroes concludes.

Where Pasveer was allowed to call himself the first goalkeeper of Ajax last season, that does not seem the case next season. Faroli successor Johnny Heitinga took Vanceezslav Jaros from Liverpool. He seems to be the first choice under the bar. Ajax is also working on the arrival of Oranje O19 talent Joeri Heerkens.
