Anatoly Yakovlevich Ivanov, by whose name the tournament was named, was also a fan of football. The journalist was combined with the activities of the functionar of the country’s sports federation.
The organizer of the tournament Alexander Bukhin says: “This year our country celebrated 80 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. And since Anatoly Yakovlevich was its participant, plus a lot in the Kaluga region for the development of football, they decided to hold this tournament.”
Famous players responded to the call to participate in the tournament. The only requirement is the age of 50+. The matches are fleeting, commands 8 to 8, in the case of a draw – a penalty series. Group winners play in the final. Moreover, the organizers believe that the memory tournament Anatoly Ivanov will become permanent.
“The memory of Yuri Kruglova … Recently, an Anatoly Kontsevov was held tournament. There was a tournament dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory. That is, as it would be in the clip of all veteran tournaments,” Banin explains.
