As the festive season approaches, Marie-Christine Monet, the dedicated coach of the MJC’s judo section, reflects on a season marked by growth and achievement. With the invaluable assistance of 9-year-old Emma, who leads her young peers with remarkable maturity, the judo program has flourished, nurturing the next generation of martial artists.

A Flourishing Judo Program

Since September, 26 young judokas have been honing their skills on the tatami mats every Tuesday.Divided into two groups based on age—2018 to 2020 and 2015 to 2017—the program ensures personalized attention and tailored training. Emma Hermand, Mia Pierre, and Linaël Lauvergeon have taken their dedication a step further by joining the enhancement group, which meets every Friday at the Saint-Dizier dojo.this commitment allows them to benefit from two training sessions each week, fostering rapid progress and skill enhancement.

Overcoming Apprehensions and Building Confidence

During the All saints’ Day holidays, some judokas from Ancerville participated in a course open to all sections of the Marnaval/Saint-Dizier Judo-club. Despite initial apprehensions, the youngest participants quickly overcame their nerves, thanks to the supportive habitat and encouraging words from their peers and coaches. This experience not only boosted their confidence but also strengthened their bond with the Marnaval dojo.The next regrouping is eagerly anticipated on December 21 in Marnaval.

Celebrating Success at the Mini-Chicks and Samurai Tournament

On December 14,the Marnaval/Saint-Dizier Judo-club hosted the first round of the mini-chicks animation and the samurai tournament at the saint-Dizier Social and Cultural center. The event drew an extraordinary turnout, with 86 mini-chicks and 73 chicks from the north of Haute-Marne showcasing their skills and enthusiasm. The six mini-chicks from the MJC d’ancerville achieved a perfect evaluation, completing all nine workshops with flying colors. Their success was symbolized by a beaming emoticon clapping, a testament to their hard work and dedication.

Recognizing Excellence and Encouraging Future Success

The five chicks from the MJC d’Ancerville demonstrated remarkable skill, scoring between 130 and 145 points out of a possible 150. Coach Marie-Christine Monet congratulated them, praising their high level of work and encouraging them to continue their journey of perseverance and improvement. With future competitions on the horizon, notably in January, the young judokas are poised to reach new heights, driven by their passion and the unwavering support of their coach and peers.
