Dominican Judo Federation Kicks Off National Children’s School Judo Championship

In a thrilling start to the National Children’s school Judo Championship,the Dominican Judo Federation (Fedojudo) will host the eagerly anticipated event this Friday at the National House of Judo in the Olympic Center. With the backing of the Ministry of Sports, led by engineer Kelvin cruz, and the National institute of Physical Education (INEFI), under the guidance of Alberto Rodríguez, this championship promises to be a showcase of youthful talent and discipline.

A day of Preparation and Celebration

the day before the competition, Thursday, will see a technical conference and weigh-in, setting the stage for the main event. On Friday, the action begins at 9:00 AM, culminating in an opening ceremony at 11:00 AM. Gilberto García, head of Fedojudo, announced that the tournament will feature young athletes aged U-13 and U-15, both male and female, highlighting the federation’s commitment to nurturing future champions.

Fostering Talent and competition

The primary goal of this championship, as García emphasized, is to focus on the foundational advancement of young judokas. The competition will determine the two top athletes from each region, ultimately crowning national champions in both categories. This event will gather 220 athletes from various educational centers across the North,South,East,and Metropolitan Zone regions,all of whom have earned their spots through regional qualifying rounds held throughout the year.
