Norden – Things are continuing to go well for the two young judoka Micah and Aylin Paris: The young women from Norder, who have been competing for the Judo Tiger Team Visbek since the beginning of the year, not only impressed at the district championships, but also on their home mats a little later: At the Tiger Cup in Visbek, ten-year-old Micah Paris fought her way to tournament victory, her older sister took bronze.

The Tiger Cup is one of the largest tournament events in northern Germany. Around 750 participants from a total of 90 clubs came to this judo event, coming from all over Germany and the Netherlands. Micah Paris started in the U13 age group. She won all of her matches confidently and was happy with first place. A day later, the talent, who, like her sister, previously competed for Süderneulander SV and JKG Norden, ventured into the U15 age group. She kept up brilliantly against her significantly older competitors and came third.

Alina Paris also competed in the U15 age group, but was unlucky: because she injured her eye during a fight, a paramedic advised the judges to stop. The northerner also started her journey home with bronze in her luggage.

The siblings previously caused a stir at the Weser-Ems district individual championships in the U15 age group in Westerholt. Micah Paris left all of her significantly older opponents behind and secured the title. She won two matches early. Against a woman from Nordhorn she went the full distance, but didn’t let anything go wrong either.

Alina Paris also won two fights early in her weight class. After a defeat she finished second. Both northerners have qualified to take part in the U15 national championship, which will be held in Isenbüttel on June 1st.
