Borussia Dortmund has given the Bundesliga and ultimately itself another starting place for the Champions League. Thanks to the win against PSG, five German teams will take part in the premier class next season. A fitting symbolism for BVB.
Once the starting position had been determined before the second leg in Paris, Dortmund were able to focus on the success they had achieved straight away. With the 1-0 win in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against PSG, BVB secured another starting place for the premier class for themselves and the Bundesliga.
“We qualified for the Champions League today. And that’s what we’re taking with us today,” said BVB coach Edin Terzic. Background information: In the coming season, five German clubs will take part in the premier class instead of the previous four. In the relevant Uefa ranking, Dortmund’s victory can no longer push Germany out of second place behind Spain. The fifth place in the Bundesliga gets the additional premier class place – currently Dortmund, who can no longer fall back to sixth place.

With Munich’s draw against Real Madrid and Dortmund’s first leg win, VfB Stuttgart, Leipzig and BVB are also sure to be there. All three teams can no longer be pushed out of the top five places in the Bundesliga.
