Two transport units on Route 11 were attacked in the Lázaro Cárdenas del Río neighborhood of Cuernavaca on the border with the municipality of Temixco.
The incident occurred around 3:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, when one unit was set on fire and another was shot. Additionally, three homes in the area were affected.
In response, military and police authorities secured the area and ruled out any injuries.
The affected units were vehicles with economy 53 and 15.
Dealers had warned about the situation
On April 30, Dagoberto Rivera Jaimes, president of the Authentic Transportation Federation, denounced the insecurity facing Route 11, and mentioned that at least 15 units have been vandalized or shot at in recent months.
Given this, the concessionaires threatened to suspend the service if the safety of drivers and passengers is not guaranteed.
