Top Spanish Players Alcaraz and Sinner Exit Madrid ATP 1000 Tournament Within 18 Hours

Within 18 hours, the Madrid ATP 1000 tournament lost both Spanish flagships. Carlos Alcaraztournament winner in the “Caja Magica” in 2022 and 2023, failed 6:4, 3:6, 2:6 in the quarterfinals against the Russian Andrei Rublev (ATP 7), who celebrated his best win of the season. Rublew won for the first time in a year and a half against a player from the top 3 in the world rankings.

Immediately after Alcaraz also said goodbye Jannik Sinner from the ATP 1000 tournament. The world number 2 from Italy withdrew on the day off because of one Injury to right hip back. The Canadian Happy Auger-Also reached the semi-finals without a fight.
