SRG Partnership designed the Cougar Baseball Complex to set a new standard for athletic facilities at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington.

The Cougars baseball team’s redesigned home stadium includes a state-of-the-art team facility with amenities designed to promote the development and wellness of student-athletes. This new facility blends the coach’s vision and unique team culture to allow Washington State University (WSU) to consistently recruit top Division I athletes, showcase and draw from WSU’s rich baseball history, and propel the program to new heights , as it sets its sights on a “return to Omaha” to the famed College World Series venue.

One of the main goals of the project was to create a welcoming front entrance for the WSU baseball team, enhancing the game day experience of the surrounding campus and community with a new stadium entrance. Organized around a busy and prominent corner, the 12,550-square-foot facility improves circulation and access and builds on WSU’s master plan to serve as an important visual and pedestrian link within the broader campus environment. The new building is strategically positioned to provide maximum flexibility for future development and expansion.

All about the team
The team facility is a renowned hub where coaches and players gather to build stronger team bonds and a championship culture. A natural attraction in the center of the building, the Nutrition Zone opens to lounges and conference rooms to accommodate diverse uses and encourage interaction between coaches, staff and student-athletes. Direct views from the front door through the conference room reinforce the important connection to Bailey Brayton Field.

A holistic approach to performance and happiness
Programs included in this new facility combine more traditional team and coaching spaces with cutting-edge, performance-focused facilities designed to develop student-athletes. Some of the facilities include weightlifting, strength/conditioning, rehabilitation, sports medicine, nutrition, hydrotherapy and teaching areas – all under one roof. This creates an unparalleled comprehensive environment and amenities for student-athletes, laying the foundation for WSU’s commitment to developing athletes, students and community leaders.
