EA7 Emporio Armani Milan vs Dolomiti Energia Trentino

At the Unipol Forum in Assago everything is ready for the second act of the quarter-final series between Olimpia and Aquila.

Coach Messina, after the heavy defeat two days ago, brings Voigtmann back to the 12 to replace the injured Baron. For the guests, the former Alviti who was in doubt was present in the 12.

Two-hour ball at 8pm with the match live on DAZN and Eurosport.

Biligha stops Melli late and the first points of the match go to the hosts, a personal 6-0 from the captain with a completely different face in defense for the men from Messina. The former center of the evening unblocks him with the placed shot, Mooney responds to another basket from Melli but Trento remains in contact, Alviti from the arc and Baldwin in isolation give the tie. The national team’s big man is already at 12 points, Mirotic supports with his deep position in the area but the defensive intensity drops and L’Aquila takes advantage of it, 18-16 after 7 minutes of play. Galbiati has to temporarily do without Forray and Baldwin (two fouls each), Hall finds comfortable points and Hubb enters the game well, with Shields’ first shots from distance which are however worth +10. Flaccadori breaks free after the recovery, Napier supports the last shot and the score is 35-20 at the end of the first quarter (83% from the field for Milan).
Hall increases the gap from the arc, Napier completes the slalom and on the other side Baldwin completes the three-point play to try to revive Trento’s attack. Biligha scores and cancels Napier with the block, Melli returns to put on a show near the rim and the alley-oop for Voigtmann forces Galbiati to stop the match, the score on the scoreboard 46-27. Shields extends further with the 2+1, Mooney finds the second triple but Melli is invaluable in tap-in, to keep the Eagle at a distance despite the attempts of Hubb who warms his hand from afar. The Dane never stops, with the beautiful play built by Voigtmann-Tonut, and is at 15 points in the second period alone, Baldwin is a thorn in the side of the Milanese defense but it’s not enough: first points also for Cooke but Olimpia is well ahead 65-48 at halftime.

Forray scores a three, Napier sends Melli to dunk and after Baldwin’s winning penetration it is Shields who invents from the distance, sending Dolomiti Energia’s efforts back to the sender. Mirotic tries to definitively enter the game via free throws, the former Baskonia player is already at 28 and builds the +23, the maximum advantage of the evening. Hubb and Baldwin don’t want to raise the white flag and score a 9-0 run, Hall and Hines close it out brilliantly and Tonut’s three-pointer seals Olimpia’s good reaction: the score is 87-64 after thirty minutes of play.
