Büdingen/Nidda (jnn/red). At the individual judo championships in the Hesse-East district, athletes from Büdingen and Nidda were at the top of the winners’ podium.
Three judoka from the Büdinger gymnastics association took part. Luca Hennig initially competed in the U15. The first fight was evenly matched until a few seconds before the end of regular time, but then Hennig’s opponent scored after a careless moment. Even in the second fight, good approaches were not enough to win against a blue belt. He asserted his strong grip, put Hennig on the defensive and finally won with a hip throw.
Pia Hebler was the only one in her weight class, also in the U15 age group. She fought a return match out of competition against a participant from another class and won confidently twice.
The U18 competitions began at the same time as the U15. The field of participants in the weight class of the third Büdinger athlete, Simon Althaus, consisted of two participants. In the first fight, Althaus was able to throw his opponent onto his back using an Ushiro-Goshi, a lifting technique, and win early. In the rematch he fell behind, but because his opponent did not return in time after a break for medical treatment, Althaus no longer had the chance to prevail in the fight. The three judoka from the Büdinger gymnastics association were able to take home two first places and a lot of valuable experience.
Linus Heinrich, a young Nidda judoka, was also represented in the under 13 age group. Heinrich successfully prevailed against strong opponents from 1. JC Samurai Offenbach and SV Oberdorfelden. The Nidda judo talent also secured the district championship title because of his quick Ippon victories, thus confirming his training performance. Coach and trainer Julian Jungermann is satisfied with the success of his protégé, whose next challenge has already been decided. As district champion, Heinrich also starts at the U13 screening tournament of the Hessian Judo Association in Eichenzell.
