Roland-Garros 2024: the clash between Rafael Nadal and Alexander Zverev will take place on Monday

It’s the shock that everyone is waiting for. The duel between Rafael Nadal, winner of Roland-Garros fourteen times, and Alexander Zverev, fourth player in the world, in the first round of the 2024 edition. A remake of the incredible semi-final of 2022 but also, perhaps, the Spaniard’s last match at Porte d’Auteuil. All observers would no doubt like to be there, or watch it, but when will it take place?

We can now say, the match will take place on Monday. However, the official programs are not yet available, and it is not possible to say whether this first round will be held in a day session or a night session. Rafael Nadal would prefer to play during the day, for reasons of playing conditions. Indeed, the Spaniard, who likes when the ball is lively and bounces high, prefers to play during the day, under the sun. For what could be his last Roland-Garros, to deny him this honor would be an affront.

As for the broadcasters, we are waiting for the schedule with excitement. France Télévisions hopes that Rafael Nadal will win his case. Because if the match is scheduled for a night session, it will be broadcast on Prime Video, and cannot be seen on the public service. A co-broadcast or free broadcast on Amazon, as was the case for the quarter-final between Nadal and Djokovic in 2022, cannot be ruled out either.
