Promoting Well-being and Resilience Through Judo: The Christian Workers Movement Initiative in Palermo

The Christian Workers Movement of Palermo is promoting an initiative that aims to invest in the future of young people by promoting physical and psychological well-being through sport. In collaboration with the “Doniamo un sorriso smile live” Association, the Movement has decided to finance three scholarships for a Judo course, aimed in particular at minors under judicial guardianship.

The course is held in the gym of the Asd Nova Nippon Club sports center in Palermo. “The desire to donate these scholarships comes from the desire to guarantee the possibility of a better future for these children who live in difficult situations. This partnership with the Christian Workers Movement of Palermo represents a further step towards the realization of this objective”, explains Graziella Graci, founding member of the Association “Let’s donate a smile Live”.

“We enthusiastically welcomed the proposal and it was an honor for us to contribute with these scholarships. Sport, and especially Judo, is a powerful tool for promoting resilience and self-esteem. We hope that these scholarships can be the first step towards a bright future for these kids” says Chiara Gennuso, Mcl regional youth manager.

Judo is a sport that goes far beyond physical practice. “It is a martial art that teaches discipline, respect for others and for oneself, as well as strategy and self-control – explains Marco Coppola, Judo master – Learning these skills is particularly significant for children. Judo offers them an avenue to express themselves, build confidence and overcome the challenges they encounter along the way.”
