Robin van Persie wants to do business with PSV: departure imminent

PSV will continue with Matteo Dams for longer, Rik Elfrink of the Eindhovens Dagblad revealed on Thursday afternoon. The Eindhoven team has included the option in the contract of the twenty-year-old centre-back, who is now committed until mid-2025. At the same time, the club says goodbye to Mylian Jiménez. The latter may leave for SC Heerenveen, where Robin van Persie will be at the helm next season.
Dams played for Jong PSV last season and the club wanted to retain him for another year. The central defender had a contract that ran until June 30 with an option for another season. That option is activated.
PSV hopes that Dams will take another step forward in the coming football season. Last season he was already a regular at Jong PSV: he played a total of 32 games in the Kitchen Champion Division.
The people of Eindhoven are busy setting up the promising team. An oral agreement was also recently reached with left wing defender Raf van de Riet about the extension of his contract. According to Elfrink, PSV expects a lot from the seventeen-year-old back, who will make his debut in professional football next season.
Elfrink previously announced that PSV also hopes to strengthen itself with Madi Monamay. The only eighteen-year-old central defender has to be taken over from Bayer Leverkusen, where he has another year under contract.
Shifts are also taking place on the exit side. Mohamed Nassoh, Koen Jansen and Jiménez leave. The latter is not yet considered good enough for the first team and has an expiring contract. There is a good chance that SC Heerenveen or a foreign club will be the new destination for Jiménez.
At the same time, the transfer-free Jansen has reached an agreement with Roda JC Kerkrade about a transfer, while Nassoh will leave for Sparta Rotterdam on July 1.
