PSG-OL: the Coupe de France final in Lille classified as “very high risk”

Supporters will be particularly monitored this Saturday at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium in Villeneuve-d’Ascq. As revealed this Thursday RMC Sport, the Coupe de France final between Olympique Lyonnais and Paris Saint-Germain was ranked 5 on a scale of 5 by the services of the National Division for the Fight against Hooliganism (DNLH). The Northern prefecture also announced that a protection perimeter would be set up around the stadium.

In total, 30,000 supporters from Lyon and Paris were expected in the Stade du Nord to watch the final. The meeting would present serious risks of disturbance to public order and requires numerous measures to ensure the safety of all. The presence of Emmanuel Macron is also not certain, due to his trip to New Caledonia, where serious riots are currently taking place.

The Gambardella final as a preamble

The security services are particularly concerned by the organization of such a meeting outside Paris. It will also be necessary to manage the flow of supporters who will travel to the North especially for the occasion. This management is very different from that in Île-de-France, where the network is better served.

The final of the Coupe Gambardella, which takes place just before that of the Coupe de France, is also worrying. This takes place between Olympique de Marseille and AS Nancy Lorraine. Marseille supporters are not normally expected on site. Even if the Marseille club and Nancy benefited from 300 places. Enough to attract a small delegation, but no more. Lille supporters, for their part, are banned from stadiums for this day.
