Orlando Magic Eyeing Veteran Shooting Guard Klay Thompson in Free Agency for Next Season

The Orlando Magic’s season has come to an end after losing in the seventh game of the first round against the Cavaliers by 106-94. And from their offices they are already working on the next campaign, and one of their objectives will be veteran shooting guard Klay Thompson, who will be an unrestricted free agent starting in July.

Journalist Shams Charania has reported on this, and according to his sources, there would be mutual interest between both parties. The Magic are looking for a veteran shooter of his caliber, and Thompson for his part would like to sign for a big buck, perhaps his last big contract in the NBA.

He is currently earning a salary of almost $44 million, and the Warriors have almost ruled out offering him a large, long-term commitment. Therefore, this is where the Magic come into play, since they will have almost 70 million to invest in signings and they could dig deep into their pockets to try to convince him to join his young project.
