According to sources by sports business journalist John Ourand, Netflix could broadcast NFL games from next season. According to its sources, the digital broadcasting platform would present two matches on Christmas Day, December 25.

For the moment, no agreement has been reached between Netflix and the NFL, but the Goodell circuit has decided to delay the unveiling of its schedule until May 15 due to ongoing negotiations for the broadcast of these two meetings.

Ourand specifies, however, that the agreement could fall through if the two parties are not able to agree by then.

Netflix is not the first general digital broadcasting platform to try its luck in sport. Amazon’s Prime Video has obtained the broadcast rights for National Hockey League (NHL) matches and Apple TV has been the official broadcaster of Major League Soccer (MLS) matches since last year, among others.
