Master Ulm on the brink of elimination!
They lost game three of the quarter-finals in the BBL playoffs in Würzburg with 79:82 and are therefore 1:2 behind in the best-of-5 series. And the season could be over for coach Anton Gavel’s team as early as Friday.

And the Würzburg fans in the packed Tectake Arena (3200 seats) are also merciless: Ulm’s captain Thomas Klepeisz is booed and whistled at every time he touches the ball. The reason: in game one he kicked his opponent Owen Klassen while lying on the ground. Klepeisz tries to play it off coolly and scores 15 points.

When Seljaas scored a three-pointer to make it 42:30, Dyn commentator Florian von Stackelberg cheered: “The charisma comes out of his mustache!” The shooter has a distinctive beard and a mullet hairstyle.
At halftime, Würzburg leads 44:34. Dyn expert Akeem Vargas: “Ulm needs more aggression. The first five minutes after the break are crucial.”

It doesn’t work because Schnauzer Seljaas mercilessly sinks the three-pointer to make it 48:36. And Julius Böhmer goes one better. 51:36 – Ulm’s coach Gavel has to take the next timeout after just under two minutes.
A 12-0 run by Ulm follows. 64:57 after three quarters because Washington sinks the buzzer-beater three-pointer.

Ulm’s Karim Jallow honestly on the Dyn microphone: “We were a bit soft at the beginning. We didn’t have control over the game. That’s why we deserved to lose. The plan for Friday is to win the game, no matter how.”
Würzburg’s Zach Seljaas: “A very physical game. But it was fun. Of course we miss Otis. But we fight and play as a team.”
