After his opening win against Roco Batalia, the 30-year-old lost in the second qualifying round against the Dutch Jesper de Jong in straight sets. Novak had to admit defeat to his 23-year-old opponent 3:6 and 3:6 and was unable to match his performance from the first round match.
Hope rests on Misolic
This means that only Austria’s number one Sebastian Ofner is currently in the main field of the tournament. With Filip Misolic, however, another ÖTV athlete is represented in the qualification for Roland Garros – he will meet the Frenchman Ugo Blanchet (live ticker) in the second round.
