Magic Force Game 7 with Win over Cavaliers: Mitchell’s 50 points not enough

Orlando Magic (E5) – Cleveland Cavaliers (E4) 103:96 (BOXSCORE), Serie: 3-3

There will be a Game 7 on Sunday at 7 p.m. German time. 50 points (22/36 FG) from an outstanding Donovan Mitchell were not enough for the Cavs to decide the series, instead it was the Magic who extended their season again with a 30:18 final quarter.

Paolo Banchero scored 10 of his 27 points (9/20 FG, 7/10 FT) in the final quarter, while Franz Wagner (26, 7/16 FG, 11/11 FT, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks) especially shined in the first half and in the last twelve minutes was only able to score with free throws. Jalen Suggs (22, 6/13 3P) also had a strong game and got a few stops against Mitchell in the fourth quarter.

The superstar scored all 18 of the Cavs’ points in the fourth quarter, and nothing came of the rest. Jarrett Allen was missing again with a rib injury, but Evan Mobley (3, 1/5, 5 blocks) took over as center, who was extremely strong in defense but did not perform at all offensively. Darius Garland (21, 10/17) played a good 36 minutes, but then disappeared completely. Only Max Strus (10, 4/7) scored more than 4 points for Cleveland; as a team, the Cavs shot 25 percent from distance.

Orlando was only marginally better (11/36), but Suggs had the hot hand. Moritz Wagner (2, 1/5, 6 rebounds only played 12 minutes and had some problems finishing, but the big man collected 5 offensive rebounds. Wendell Carter Jr. (11, 9 rebounds) also scored in double figures for Orlando. .
