Venezia coach Paolo Vanoli included Jay Idzes’ name in the starting eleven list for this match. However, the Indonesian national team player only played for 84 minutes.

Venezia actually had a chance to get that ticket when they took a 1-0 lead over Spezia in the first half through Idzes’ goal in the 17th minute which completed Magnus Andersen’s pass.

Separately, Como fell behind their guests, Nuova Cosenza, through Gennaro Tutino’s goal after half an hour. In this position, Venezia is already one point ahead of the club owned by the Indonesian businessman.

The situation began to change in the second half. Spezia managed to equalize through Francesco Esposito’s goal in the 56th minute. Arkadiusz Reca then turned things around in the 61st minute, giving Spezia a 2-1 lead over Venezia.

In the midst of Venezia’s efforts to catch up, Como managed to equalize after Simone Verdi successfully changed the scoreboard to 1-1 with a penalty kick in the 74th minute.

Until the match ended, both Venezia and Como failed to add to their tally of goals. Venezia finally had to settle for taking part in the promotion play-offs which included six teams.

Apart from Venice, the other five teams that will compete in the play-off round are Cremonese, Catanzaro, Palermo, Sampdoria and Brescia.

The following is the lineup for both teams:

Spice: Zoet; Mateju, Hristov, Bertola; Elia, Esposito S., Nagy, Reca; Bandinelli; Di Serio, Esposito F.

Venezia: Joronen; Idzes, Svoboda, Sverko; Candela, Kofod Andersen, Tessmann, Busio, Zampano; Gytkjaer, Pohjanpalo.
