Italian Archers Shine in Rome: Piran and Mjino Claim Gold at European Para-Archery Championships

Great show in Rome on the morning of the finals for the gold of the European Para-Archery Championships which are taking place in the Archaeological Park of Ostia Antica. Daniele Piran and Elisabetta Mjino win the title, silver for Eleonora Sarti and bronze for Matteo Panariello. In the afternoon, many other chances of medals for the Italians with finals broadcast live on the World Archery Europe YouTube channel.

I RISULTATI VISUALLY IMPAIRED – Italy celebrates two medals in the Visually Impaired, in category VI 1 Matteo Panariello he wins the bronze by beating the Andora archer Jordi Casellas Albiol 6-0 in the final, an absolute domination for the blue who wins all the sets 20-7, 23-12 and 16-6.
Daniele is confirmed as European champion among the VI 2/3 Piranha at the end of a long and exciting clash against the Spaniard Adrian Orjales Vidal. The blue starts well (21-18) but is caught by the opponent in the second set (24-22), the third set is interlocutory (22-22), while the last two repeat the previous script with 27-21 for Piran and Vidal’s 25-21. Thus we go to the shoot off with both arrows on 7 but that of the reigning champion is closer to the center and is worth the gold.

THE RESULTS OF THE OLIMPIC – Continental encore also for Elisabetta My O who wins the European gold again by beating the Polish Milena Olszewska 7-1 in the final. The Italian, first since qualifying, leads throughout the match with 27-24 in the first volley, followed by 27-27 in the second and two other partial wins 27-22 and 27-25.

THE RESULTS OF THE COMPOUND – Defeat and silver for Eleonora Tailors who can do little against the Turkish Oznur Cure who in the whole match only placed arrows on 10 with the exception of an 8 and a 9. A frenetic pace which the Italian only kept up with in three volleys, the first, the fourth and the fifth lost 30-29, in the other two the opponent flew towards gold with a 29-18 and a 28-28 which brought the final score to 147-132.
