Injured Coach Chris Finch Set to Make Bench Appearance for Wolves-Nuggets Series Opener

During the end of the series against the Suns in the first round, coach Chris Finch was… injured following a collision with his player Mike Conley along the sideline. Enough to cast doubt on his presence on the bench for the start of the series against Denver this Saturday. But Coach Finch should be there!

This is Shams Charania (The Athletic) who announced the news: victim of a ruptured patellar tendon, Chris Finch will normally sit near the bench during Game 1 next night. He will thus be able to give his instructions to his assistant Micah Nori, who will be on the front line speaking to the players during the meeting.

There is increased optimism that Timberwolves coach Chris Finch — who has a torn patellar tendon — will be seated near bench for the Timberwolves-Nuggets series, sources tell @ShamsCharania and @JonKrawczynski. pic.twitter.com/DzP9we7CL2

This is good news for the Wolves, who obviously want to be accompanied by their strong man for this start of the series on the lands of the reigning champion.

As a reminder, Chris Finch had surgery on Wednesday and then immediately returned to training, on crutches. He made the trip from Minneapolis to Denver yesterday, a day after the rest of the Wolves team.
