(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 17 – A more than promising Friday in Imola for Ferrari, with Charles Leclerc who, after putting everyone behind in the first free practice, repeated his success in the afternoon session. The Monegasque driver, at the wheel of the updated SF-24, set a time of 1:15.906, improving the previous 1’16”990 by over a second.

Behind Leclerc were Oscar Piastri with the McLaren, about two tenths behind, and the Japanese Yuki Tsunoda, almost four but still surprising with the RB, while Carlos Sainz, third in the morning, achieved the sixth fastest time, preceded also by Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, with Mercedes. The gap accumulated by Max Verstappen is more than half a second, seventh in the times and not satisfied with the grip of his Red Bull, but still able to edge a tenth from his teammate, Sergio Perez. Not even Aston Martin did well on the first day of work ahead of the Emilia Romagna GP, with Alonso only tenth and a second behind Ferrari. (HANDLE). .
