Austria’s athletes won a total of five gold medals at the Balkan Championships in Izmir (Turkey). After the successes of Lena Pressler (400 m hurdles) and Sebastian Frey (5,000 m) the day before, Enzo Diessl, Tobias Rattinger and Frey again won on Sunday.
This brings valuable points for the world ranking, which decides qualification for the European Championships in Rome and the Olympics in Paris. Frey won the 3,000 m comfortably in 7:52.14 minutes, Diessl won the 110 m hurdles in 13.48 seconds, Rattinger won the 3,000 m steeplechase in 8:36.72 minutes.
